We need to look at our assets, Its not much help looking only at our weaknesses or character defects without also balancing the scales and acknowledging our strengths.
Too much emphasis can be placed on where we stuffed up rather than the good we have within and have done in our lives. Our accomplishments and assets need to be recognised and nurtured as SelfEsteem is built on positives and acceptance of ourselves.
I have listed a heap of positive character traits that you can checklist for yourself. Some of us have such a low opinion of ourselves that maybe you need to ask someone who knows you to help with this checklist. They may be more aware of your strengths than you are. Try thinking of when you were a child before personality dysfunction set in and what you were like in your purest form. Embrace these positive traits and love yourself for them in spite of the crap your head tells you.
Remember we arent all complete stuff ups, we do have enduring qualities that are unique to us and other people respect and love in us.
